Propane Bobtail Driver / Service and Install Technician

 

Job Description

Knight Propane is a local family owned and operated company looking for the right person to help serve our growing customer base.  We pride ourselves in our customer service and are in search of the perfect candidate to represent our business with friendly professionalism while serving all our customer’s propane needs.  We need a propane Bobtail Driver who can also work into a propane Service and Install Technician position.  If you have a strong work ethic and meet the requirements outlined below we’d love to talk with you.  

Bobtail Driver – (Requires TX Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements prior to hiring.  Also requires Bobtail Certification from TX. Railroad Commission, but this may be obtained shortly after hiring.)  Duties include:

  • Conduct truck inspections with proper documentation
  • Fill propane cylinders at filling station 
  • Deliver and dispense propane
  • Conduct leak tests
  • Change regulators and thermocouples
  • Maintain proper customer documentation
  • Represent company to customers with friendly and professional demeanor
  • Assist in propane installation and repair (under the direct supervision of a certified service and install technician)
  • Other duties as assigned 

Paid Time Off.  Compensation commensurate with experience.

Service and Install Technician –  (Requires Propane Service and Installation Certificate from the TX Railroad Commission, but this can be obtained after hiring as long as the candidate already has Bobtail certification, and TX Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements.  Duties include:

  • Installation of propane systems
  • Repair and maintenance of propane systems
  • Conduct cathodic protection testing
  • Maintain proper documentation
  • Other duties as assigned 

Paid Time Off.  Compensation commensurate with experience.  

Requirements: 

  • Texas Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (prior to hiring)
  • Bobtail Certification from TX Railroad Commission (preferred prior to hiring but must be obtained with 30 days of hiring)
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Clean driving record
  • Service and Install Certification from TX Railroad Commission (preferred, but can be obtained at a later time as long as qualifications above are met)
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds, climb in and out of truck, pull hose, stand, stoop, dig, etc.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and driving conditions
  • Willingness to work some Saturdays and to work overtime in winter months when needed
